Kathleen Hessel

Kathleen is originally from a northern suburb of Milwaukee and a life-long Wisconsin resident. She is a double-Badger, having attended UW-Madison for both undergraduate and law school. Her undergraduate degrees are in English- Literature and Philosophy.

While in law school, she participated in the UW Law School’s Family Court Clinic, helping unrepresented people who could not afford attorneys to understand and navigate the family court process. Although her initial term was only for one year, she found the work so rewarding that she opted to remain with the clinic for an additional summer. During law school, she received two scholarships through the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers: the 2022 Wisconsin Chapter award and the 2022 Leonard Loeb Scholarship, both for her interest in and commitment to practicing family law. Kathleen joined Kowalski, Wilson & Vang, LLC after her second year of law school and became an associate attorney upon her graduation.

Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys playing in volleyball leagues, visiting the Dane County Farmer’s market, reading cookbooks and trying new recipes, and traveling every chance she gets.
